The tour starts by visiting the exterior of the majestic Duomo, the largest monument in Milan, entirely made of marble. Then, you will tour the roof terraces of the Duomo (access by lift/elevator). While enjoying the breathtaking panoramic view above Milan, among the splendid statues portraying saints and prophets, you will see little curious details made of marble; such as the portrait of Lincoln, a tennis racket and boxing gloves.
Next, you will visit the cathedral’s interior, its archaeological site situated under the churchyard and Via Laghetto (Lake Street) where the marble slabs used to build the Duomo were delivered. The tour will end by visiting the peculiar San Bernardino church, with its side chapel embellished by a fresco by Sebastiano Ricci and the walls almost totally covered by bones.
