Visit ancient Pompeii with a Local Guide! Take a fascinating journey back in time into the habits and customs of a wealthy town dating back from the Roman Empire. Relive the daily life of the citizens of Pompeii before the eruption of 79 AD when Volcano Vesuvius in literally a matter of hours buried the ancient city and its citizens under several meters of volcanic rocks, ash, and pumices. In that dramatic moment, time was stopped in its tracks and Pompeii remains a time capsule of a bygone era.
We’ll start from Piazza Anfiteatro, where one of the oldest amphitheaters in the world will welcome us to continue visiting the gladiator gym and different magnificent private residences adorned with beautifully painted frescoes and original mosaics, several shops, the most important temples, hotels as well as a brothel, and even the plaster casts of the victims bodies, a brutal reminder of the last moments of this great tragedy of the ancient world.
